Creative Net: Oil Painting - Monochrome Wipeout Technique

Wednesday 2 March 2022, 11am-1pm

Free workshops on the first Wednesday of every month. Everybody welcome! Materials, coffee, biscuits, and great creative conversations provided.

This is a fast way to shape light and dark values on your canvas. The technique is simple: once the canvas has been covered with a solid layer of dark paint, a cloth, cotton bud or brush can be used to bring back the white of the canvas. This method creates beautiful tones and shading and can be used for any subject matter. A selection of natural history objects will be provided to work from or you can bring your own resource material or images.
