Join speakers Sue Powell, Moot Hall business manager and tour guide, Eleanor Ralston, Moot Hall research and education manager and tour guide and Ruth Earnshaw, project volunteer who talk about life in Maldon.
Maldon's Moot Hall has been the centre of civic life in the town since 1576. In that time it has served as prison, police station, court house, armoury, council chamber and public meeting space.
The Essex Record Office holds many documents from the magistrates’ court which sat here until 1950. Over the last few years, a team of volunteers has been working through some of these records and putting them on a database for all to use.
Come and hear more about the ongoing project and some of the fascinating stories about life in Maldon in the past.
