Workshop: One Day Bread Basket course with Jo Hammond
This is a great opportunity to work with one of East Anglia’s best willow workers. Weave a sturdy, characterful basket, great for serving bread.
This full day course, which is suitable for beginners, will take place at Cressing Temple near Braintree. Please note: Willow weaving is moderately hard work, and requires a firm grip.
This project is a great introduction to willow basket making; working step by step you’ll learn how to select the right materials, how to weave the base, build sides and shape handles.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please either bring a packed lunch or visit the on-site Tiptree Tearoom.
The ticket price includes all materials and any necessary tools will be provided (although you may wish to bring your own pair of sharp secateurs). This workshop is only suitable for over 18-years-old.
